Amber lager with caramel tones with a crisp, floral finish
Sweet honeyed malt tones with a crisp floral finish are the hallmarks of a solid Vienna lager. This brew also comes well packed with other graham cracker notes and beautiful copper-gold color. Firm white head with brilliant lacing, this beer is refreshing and crisp without being boring.
Vienna is a beautiful city, steeped in rich history with a glorious view of the alps. We wanted to give a nod to the spectacle of the mountain range surrounding the city this beer style hails from. Alpine Gold was born.
Rich with a crisp finish, Vienna lagers are very food-friendly beers. We recommend trying this with Roasted duck and watercress, among other roasted game birds with earthy sides. For a cheese course, just hop across the mountains just a touch for some aged Swiss Comte. For dessert, another delicious offering would be an Almond Croissant or biscotti.
Soft, elegant malt complexity is in the forefront, with a firm enough hop bitterness to provide a balanced finish. The malt flavor tends towards a rich, toasty character, without significant caramel or roast flavors. Fairly dry, crisp finish, with both rich malt and hop bitterness present in the aftertaste. Floral, spicy hop flavor may be low to none. Clean lager fermentation character.
